Olympus just upped the stakes in the serious amateur/semi-pro category of interchangeable, compact cameras and lenses. (It’s predecessor, the EM-5 also got very lofty reviews.) DPReview gave the new Olympus OM-D E-M5 II a gold metal for innovation and cutting edge design. It features their patented 4/3’s sensor, a 2,000,000 + pixel electronic viewfinder and its sealed against dust and moisture. It rocked ratings for build quality, handling, and image richness.

This new Mark-II also pushes its HD movie mode to an all new high as far as quality goes. The new JPEG processing engine is so good it calls into question the importance of RAW files.
